Helios - Greek Sun God

Here is my first sun, let me know what you think.

Does the proportions of the big planet and the sun seem ok?

I went ahead and uploaded another version of Helios, I removed the large planet and moon to keep the focus on the sun. See it here [link]

Woah just realized I gave you the wrong info.... *Facepalm*..... The sun originally started out as a planet I was working on. It just eventually evolved into a sun, I started adjusting the lighting, level, curves etc. and used some cloud textures and did the same to them... and used some fractal brushes for the lens flares.

planet would look ok if you made the shadow darker. Light does not bend around the planet yes. Your other piece is fantastic with just the sun. :)

very nice :D the sun looks so mighty and powerful :) I wish i could make things like this :p

one very small point (of course :P), toward the lower left corner, the orange fades out into square shapped areas, which looks slightly odd. everything else is perfect :D

Since you asked: either the foreground planet is close to the sun, the planet is very large (probably a gas giant, not a terrestrial planet, but gas giants don't form so close to stars), or the sun is extremely large (such as a supergiant, but I believe blue is a more common color for stars that large). And I don't think the planet would be in the habitable zone in any case. tl;dr: A few paradoxes
Use the moon and sun as a scale. I believe the moon is 400x smaller than the sun but appears to be the same size (causing eclipses) because it's 400x closer to the Earth.
But you've done a very good job in the details of the sun; the work looks nice.

Derp. I didn't think that the point of view could be a wide-angle that's close behind to the planet. So the picture is correct but the planet would still have to be close to the sun.
